Thursday, May 9th 2019 11:52:39am

Enhance your urban greenspace by planting trees this spring

WINDSOR, ON (May 9, 2019) - Join Forests Ontario for our tenth annual Community Tree Plant in Windsor! Planters of all experience levels are invited to join us in creating a greener and healthier future.

Since 2008, Forests Ontario’s Community Tree Plant has brought communities together for a free day of tree planting and awareness building.  These efforts have led to thousands of trees being planted across Ontario.

This event in Windsor is one of a series that includes Ajax, Midland, and York Region.

This event would not be possible without the help of our local partner, the City of Windsor, or support from the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and Thompson Emergency Freight.

What: Community Tree Plant

Where: City of Windsor’s former Wood Recycling Yard
             5545 Cherry Blossom Drive
             Windsor, ON
Parking is available at 5545 Cherry Blossom Drive

When: May 11, 2019
            10:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Events are held rain or shine. Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and a lot of energy! Forests Ontario and our partners will supply the rest - trees, forestry specialists to assist volunteers, and mulch. Appropriate outdoor clothing, sturdy shoes (steel toe if possible), a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent are recommended. Parking and maps are available at www.forestsontario.ca.
